Description

Olympus GoldXpert GX-2000 Countertop XRF Precious Metal Analyzer – Gold, Silver & Platinum Testing System

The Olympus GoldXpert GX-2000 is a compact countertop X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analyzer designed for rapid, non-destructive analysis of precious metals and alloys. It is particularly suited to gold testing, jewelry analysis, karat verification, precious-metal quality control and material identification.

The GoldXpert was designed as a countertop analyzer that can also be operated as a portable system with an optional rechargeable battery. It uses an enclosed sample chamber, integrated camera and small-spot XRF collimation for convenient analysis of jewelry and other valuable metal samples.

The GX-2000 family was available with either a Si PIN detector or Silicon Drift Detector (SDD) configuration. Therefore, for a used listing, it is important to identify whether the actual unit is GX-2000-PIN or GX-2000-SDD before specifying detector performance.

Key Features

Precious Metal XRF Analysis
The GoldXpert is designed to determine gold content and karatage and analyze precious-metal alloys. The standard precious-metals suite includes elements such as Au, Ag, Pt, Pd, Ir, Rh, Ni, Pb, Cu, Zn, Fe and Co, with additional elements available depending on detector/configuration.

Non-Destructive Testing
XRF analysis allows jewelry, coins, precious-metal components and other valuable objects to be tested without cutting, drilling or otherwise destroying the sample.

This makes the GoldXpert particularly useful for:
Gold jewelry
Rings
Chains
Watches
Coins
Gold bars
Precious-metal alloys
Recycled metals

Small-Spot Measurement
The integrated XRF geometry provides selectable 3 mm and 10 mm collimation, allowing the operator to measure smaller jewelry features or larger areas depending on the sample.

Integrated Camera
The built-in camera allows the operator to view the sample and measurement location and record sample images together with analysis results for documentation and reporting.

Touchscreen Operation
The GoldXpert incorporates a color touchscreen display with an 800 × 600 pixel resolution, providing direct access to measurement and analysis functions.
